ok, so i think i figured out why so many people choose, or enjoy to be in a religion
catholicism is the reliogin i was baptized under. although i do not agree with all of the view points of the catholic church, there are some things i think religious (or other people) got right. Sense we are able to prove meditating increases brain activity (http://www.crystalinks.com/medbrain.html) we can look at how meditating plays a role in religion. most people pray, every day. most everyone has prayed at least once in their lifetime. when you pray, im almost positive it requires closing your eyes. then you sit deep inside and pray about things that are concerning you right now. usually to keep loved ones safe or to help with a current situation. you are asking god, a person you cannot see but exists inside your brain. thats the only place you can find him. i feel god is just a term used to replace something else inside that most havent discovered. they havent discovered themselves. when you pray, you revisit this state of mind. it is different for everyone but is always the same. praying for a miracle is one of the most common examples of how a person creates their own faith. you ask this, "higher self" inside of you and only you to help make something happen, give me a miracle and miraculously your prayers are always answered.
i always thought of praying to be weird, why would i talk to this guy (God) if i dont even know he exists? i've never seen him before but i've always heard of him. why would our lives be put in the hands of another? we control our destiny, our fate, our future. only we can determine how our life will turn out. and going through life can be a hard thing for some so everyone needs something to live by, something to guide them, and keep them on track. the bible was basically written by a bunch of guys that followed the beliefs of another guy, jesus. and he was sent down from the heavens to fix the world pretty much. he told the disciples that he is just following orders of another guy. be a good person, have good morals, and when you die you will come to heaven and join my father and I. if you do not do good things, you will go to hell with satan. well the only problem with believing that is death is permanent. no one knows where we go after death or if we even go anywhere at all. some tell of strange paranormal/out-of-body experiences of going into the light or even of seeing jesus with a near death experience. can we believe them? i researched about the drug ketamine and how it is supposed to produce a near death/out-of-body experience. i think an experiment should be done to see if a near death experience can be re-created. this would also be dangerous because you need to be able to produce an actual near death experience as well as monitor the brain usage during the moment. would we then be able to explore the possibilities of death? the heaven that is widely used today, would it actually exist? or is it just something that our mind has created within itself. a true "heaven" simulated in your mind. is that what the 5th dimension is? did you learn enough about yourself, others, the world, even galaxy surrounding you to surpass in the 5th dimension? or did you follow the right path of "god" so you can ascend into "your" heaven?
i think another experiement should be done monitoring brain usage when someone is praying. i skilled pray-er (maybe many varieties of people)
if i think i am going to change the world, i will type this possibility for later use
i could change the world by showing everyone how meditation is the key to, basically everything.
i feel that it surpasses religion. i can show them how prayer and meditation correlate with the scientific proof of the prayer experiment. if all religions were to be disproved, that would stop all religious wars. could this be peace on earth?
always keep the possibilities open. we are constantly using our brain and thinking of many thoughts through out the day. there are so many, that most couldnt be able to count or recollect them. so maybe you should stop to think;
What happens when im not thinking of anything?
and then when you cant think of anything and are frustrated with the question, just simply meditate and the question is answered.

Ask God if He is there, and study it out. He will tell you when you are ready. Knock and it will be opened unto you. Your heart will swell and burn with His love. He is there, I know. I asked. He answered. My hearts burns.
Talk to Him as you would one man to another. You don't need repeated prayers. You wouldn't talk to you best friend in repeated verse or other peoples writing. Talk to Him personally.
Meditation opens your mind to recieve answers for God. All things are learned through the Holy Ghost. Opening your mind in meditation allows the Holy Ghost to teach you.
Reading scriptures is a form of meditation, also. Read a little, ponder a little, pray a little.
Also, watch how you change the world. Make sure you change it for good. Some people want to change the world, and their good, may not actually be good. Find out what is for sure good, then go out and change it for it. There are a lot of false "goods" out there. Make sure you know the false ones from the true good ones.
I got this from the comedian Eddie Griffin. "Christians say Jesus is the messanger. Muslims say Muhammed is the messanger. It doesn't matter who the messanger is DID YOU GET THE FREAKIN MESSAGE"
While I may not agree with everything you said I do see the futility of religion. It's all about what you do while you're here. Not who you give the credit to.
By the way your music is ill I like it keep it up, very creative. You have an interesting point of view

I am Catholic also, and some stuff I don't agree with. Used in yoga sometime and also in prayer, is of course meditation. I am not trying to go all religion on you, but don't faze God out of your life because of that. You raised some interesting questions, but God exist! Trust me, I kinda floated around doing some stuff I was not proud of for six years. But that higher power in your mind is God, which helped me. If you get mad I am sorry, but there is a God. Prayer doesn't have to follow an uniform method. I like to pray when I am driving, sitting, basically anything. I don't go all out and say a long "Hail Mary" or "Our Father", but I kinda say whatever comes out. Try that when you meditate. Also, meditation is good to relax the body. You can change the world, but not by yourself. Got to have faith!
